This project involves the complete renovation of a building located in the historic core of the Cavoretto district in Turin. The two-story structure underwent a full transformation, from the foundations to the roof. Structural upgrades included the construction of a new support ring beam and the reconstruction of the internal floor slabs, ensuring long-term stability and resilience.
The new internal layout clearly separates functions: the living area on the ground floor opens onto a small garden, while the sleeping area on the first floor features two bedrooms enhanced by a double-height space created by removing the attic floor slab. This solution expands the visual perception of space and maximizes natural light.
The external envelope has been preserved in line with the original configuration, respecting the historical fabric and existing openings. In contrast, the interiors embrace a contemporary character, equipped with high-efficiency systems such as underfloor heating and a fully electric heating and cooling solution powered by photovoltaic panels.Special attention was given to the selection of materials: lime-based paints, microcement floors, and parquet inserts contribute to a dialogue between the building’s historical weight and modern architectural language.
